The Secondary English subject leaders continue to meet regularly around the city. This is a self-sustaining free network which is hosted by subject leaders for subject leaders. English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Sheffield Teaching School Alliance is a representative on the CWLB EAL Steering group and is committed to working with this group to develop CPD and partnership working with schools, Universities and experts in the city and beyond. The group are working to bring together all the EAL ‘experts’ in the city so that we can design and deliver a coherent programme of support for teachers of EAL. We have a day of visioning and a Spring conference planned for 2015. Language Teachers' Support Network
In partnership with Porter Croft Church of England Primary School, King Edward VII School, Languages Sheffield, Sheffield’s City Wide Learning Body (CWLB) and Silverdale School we have come together to create a network to support all teachers of languages in the city and beyond. The aim of the network is bring together teachers of languages in the city across all phases and to create a space for colleagues to hear about current developments, exchange ideas and collaborate.
The CWLB has provided a small amount of funding for the network to pump-prime the start-up. We have one SLE for MFL Eva Lamb from King Edward’s who can be contacted at elamb2@kes.sheffield.sch.uk for further details of the next network meeting alternatively check our calendar – (link to calendar page). We are currently looking for a primary colleague to take up the SLE mantle on behalf of primary schools and to work with Eva to collaborate across key stages. (link to becoming an SLE page)
