Tony has a degree in Economic and Social Studies from the University of Manchester. He is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and worked in practice in Sheffield before moving into industry where he was the Finance Director at a multi-site logistics company. After joining St Luke's Hospice in 2010 he has held a number of different roles covering all aspects of commercial and non-clinical operations and is currently the Director of Finance and Chief Operating Officer. Tony has extensive non-executive experience with a number of charities and has been the treasurer of the Sheffield and District Society of Chartered Accountants.

Jennifer has a passion for science and over a decade’s experience as a cancer research scientist. She gained her PhD from the University of Sheffield where she is currently working as a Business Manager and is responsible for ensuring new discoveries are taken up by industry and translated into therapies to treat disease. She is a qualified project manager and has extensive experience of business management, commercialisation and entrepreneurship through being an inventor and being involved with the establishment of a biotechnology company, which aimed to develop new cancer therapies. Inspiring girls to have a career in a STEM area is important to Jennifer and she has been a STEM Ambassador and participated in outreach throughout her career

More recently he developed and improved the accounting and control processes at an international law firm and involved in a significant change management project to move processes to a shared service centre in Poland. Well motivated, a strong team player with excellent communication and management skills and a high level of integrity.

Chris is Professor of Evaluation and Policy Analysis at Manchester Metropolitan University. He is Director of the Policy Evaluation and Research Unit, which evaluates innovative approaches in education, youth services, housing, criminal justice and welfare. This includes research in schools funded by the Education Endowment Foundation and research on child wellbeing funded by the Department of Education. Chris’s recent books and articles have focused on innovation in the public sector and he has a long-standing interest in how research can help deliver better public services. Chris has extensive governance experience. He has been a Trustee or Non-Executive Director of several not-for-profit organisations, completed a six year term as a staff governor on Manchester Metropolitan University’s governing body and was Chair of Governors at Peak Forest primary school (latterly the Woodland Federation). As a Chair of Governors he has been through several Ofsted inspections and as an advisor to Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation he has a wider understanding of inspection and regulation in the public sector.
